The idea for this company came about in a swimming pool yes believe it or not I was taking my two kids out to the local pools when I run into a mate. We are both covered in tattoos and got to talking about how we could show them off as we get quite a few stares from the local families and of course them trying to make sure there kids didn’t play with ours LOL.
We sat there for awhile and I said to my mate “I’m goin to put on a tattoo show” he just looked at me and laughed.
11 months later and the first Lower Hutt Charity Tattoo Show was born.
17 categories, 3000 people, Chopper bikes, free helium balloons, free candy floss, for kids and loads of fun and exciting things to watch and do what an amazing weekend.
Being I’m a family man with two kids, I could appreciate the fact that there was a need for some cheap entertainment for the family so I made sure that the weekend was affordable to all people. I liked the idea of a gold coin donation just for your kids to get a balloon, as much candy floss as they can eat, competitions, and a magic show. Now that’s value for money LOL.
I was the happiest when a solo father came up to me and asked if he could bring his daughter on stage with him because he wanted to enter the tattoo comp but had no one to look after her. Not only did I say “hell yes” He was all I needed that weekend to show that I had done what I had set out to achieve.
The simple fact that you could feel safe enough to bring your child to a show, and even feel comfortable enough to bring them on stage. After that moment I didn’t care if I lost money, made money, I had achieved what I had set out to do and put on the best show I could ever put on.
Don’t get me wrong this show would not have been a success with out the help of some major sponsors.

The biggest thanks I have of all goes to my Mum Linda for all her help that weekend. I could never thank her enough and I know I was not the easiest child to ever live with so thanks.
Also just as important and by no means forgotten Glenn my Dad, a man who beyond all doubt is someone to look up to and I aspire to be, if I could be half the man he is I would be happy.
Hey this is my website and your reading so I am also going to thank my Brother Alex who took on so much work last year at the tattoo show and I run ragged. Sorry bro and thanks for all your support.
The most important people in this whole crazy show who suffered the most and put up with the mood swings, anguish ups and downs my two most beautiful children Lorien and Damien. The reason I wake up each morning, the whole cause to make the world a better place to live in, and the reasons why I love living.
Don’t ever change you will always be my most special troops and I hope I can live up to your expectations in life.
